Free range farming, also known as pasture-raised farming, is a method of raising animals that allows them to roam freely and graze on open pasture land. This farming is often seen as a more ethical and sustainable alternative to conventional factory farming methods.

In free-range farming, chickens are given access to open pasture land where they are free to forage, scratch, dust bathe, fly, eat bugs and insects and roam around as they please. This means that they have more space to move, breathe fresh air and engage in natural behaviors.

One of the key benefits of free range farming is that it is more humane for the animals involved. By giving them more space and natural conditions, animals are able to live a healthier and more natural life. This can lead to reduced stress levels and improved welfare, which is particularly important for animals raised for food.

In addition for being more humane, free range farming is also seen as more sustainable and more environmentally friendly than conventional farming methods. Farmers can reduce the need for feed and reduce the environmental impact of animal waste and promotes biodiversity by supporting natural habitats and ecosystems.

Free ranging chickens can also have positive effects on the quality of meat and eggs. They tend to have a more diverse and natural activity diet which can result in leaner meat (lower cholesterol) and eggs with higher nutrients and flavor.
